GOODRICH GOES LIVE WITH PERCEPTIVE’S HANDHELD NRC

Customized mobile maintenance system enters final implementation phase

NORCROSS, Georgia, April 27, 2001 - Perceptive Solutions, Inc., a mobile computing software company, today announced that The Goodrich Company (NYSE: GR), a leading supplier of third-party aircraft maintenance, has gone "live" with Perceptive’s Handheld NRC application.

The Aviation Services Division of Goodrich required an out-sourced, cost-effective, mobile hangar application that would work with existing enterprise systems. With Perceptive’s Handheld NRC, Goodrich was given the customized system they needed.

"Perceptive’s Handheld NRC delivered the functionality we required on time and on budget" said Jim Gahagan, Senior Director of Information & Technology Services at Goodrich’s Aviation Services Division. "The benefits of using Perceptive’s system have been immediate relative to improved, more efficient paperwork processes. This correlates to shortened turn times of aircraft heavy maintenance and modification visits", Gahagan continued.

The Perceptive Handheld NRC, an advanced computing solution using handheld devices and client-server software, lets Goodrich Inspectors write non-routine tasks electronically using a Symbol™ SPT1746 based on the PalmOS® platform. Using Handheld NRC, an inspector fills out an electronic non-routine card. Goodrich has deployed Handheld NRC for a major customer line and is considering using Handheld NRC for several other customers.
