ALPHARETTA, Georgia, December 6, 2004 - Perceptive Solutions, Inc., a handheld computing software company, today announced that Frontier Airlines has selected Perceptive’s Handheld NRC software for use at its Denver maintenance facility. Handheld NRC is projected to go live in December 2004.
Frontier sought a handheld software system that would speed the flow of information between the hangar floor, production control, and enterprise software systems. By reducing the lag between problem identification and problem resolution, Frontier expects to reduce the length of time an aircraft spends in C-Check.
"Selecting a commercially available software system lets Frontier save on both cost and implementation time," said Frontier Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering Ron McClellan. "We take great pride in our stellar safety record and our award-winning maintenance team. This product will add to the efficiency of an already impressive organization. Phase one of the handheld project will go online in mid December of this year."
"Perceptive is looking forward to working closely with Frontier to quickly deliver results to the hangar floor", said Raymond Andrick, President and CEO of Perceptive Solutions. "Our system will help Frontier’s maintenance and engineering department to continue to provide the highest quality services with more efficiency", Andrick continued.
Handheld NRC 2003, an advanced computing solution using handheld devices and client-server software, lets Frontier inspectors write non-routines electronically using a handheld computer. Handheld NRC walks an inspector procedurally through completing non-routines. Once complete the software wirelessly uploads the data to the enterprise. Frontier will become the first airline to use Handheld NRC. Third-party aircraft maintenance facilities have used Handheld NRC since 2001.
